The argument I often hear against “Tax the rich” is that “The rich will move away, and your economy will suffer”. Are there any historical occurrences that can back this?

How did historical Christians justify their prejudice toward Jews? Jesus was a Jew, who was passionately against the persecution of Jews, but the Christians seemed to think they were working in his name. It doesn’t make much sense to me.

On Alfonso I of Portugal Wikipedia's page it says "In 1122, Alfonso turned fourteen, the adult age in the 12th century. He made himself a knight on his own account in the Cathedral of Zamora..." I have never heard of someone knighting themselves. Was it looked down upon at all?
